Connect BrainBox to your company's apps: plugins and MCP servers
How to connect BrainBox to your company's apps: ready-made plugins in one click, and any app with a custom MCP server, so one answer crosses your documents with your systems.
Lesson 18 of 21 · 2:30
What it covers
With plugins, BrainBox works with your company's apps: ready-made ones like Gmail, Drive or Notion in one click, and any other app, like an ERP, through a custom MCP server. One question can then cross the ERP with your contracts, with citations from both, and anything that changes data asks for your approval first.
Frequently asked questions
›What is MCP?
An open standard to connect AI to apps, like a universal plug. If your app has an MCP server, BrainBox can use its tools.
›Can the AI change data in my apps?
Read-only tools work directly; tools that change data ask for your approval before each action.
›Can I connect a plugin to just one Box?
Yes. When you add it, you choose whether it's available only in that Box or in the whole workspace.

0:00The delay
Laura sees in the ERP that Ferrolumina is late with a delivery. How much do they charge? The delay is in the ERP, and the penalty, in the agreement. BrainBox can read both.
0:13Plugins and MCP
With plugins, BrainBox works with your company's apps. There are apps ready to connect: Gmail, Drive, Notion, Apollo. The catalog grows, and it can vary with your account and what your team enables. And if your app isn't there, like an ERP or an Odoo, you connect it anyway, with MCP: an open standard, like a universal plug for AI. Always by your rules: what only reads works directly; what changes data asks for your approval.
0:47Connect the ERP
In the sidebar, in Plugins, click Add plugin. Here are the ready-made apps: Apollo, Gmail, Notion. They connect in one click, for just this Box or the whole workspace. Our ERP isn't here, so we go to Custom MCP. Paste the address of your app's MCP server, give it a name, and choose where it will be available. Add. Done: Celtara ERP, connected, with three tools. Here you see each one: inventory, invoices and purchase orders. They're all read-only, so they never ask for permission. If one could change data, it would ask for your approval first.
1:30ERP and agreement, in one answer
Now ask Laura's question: according to the ERP, does Ferrolumina have any late orders? What would the penalty be under the agreement? Look: BrainBox checks the ERP, and finds the agreement in the Box. Order one twenty-one is nine days late. With the agreement's zero point five percent per day, the penalty would be five hundred forty-six dollars and ninety-three cents. And every fact has its citation: the order, from the ERP; the rate, from the agreement.
2:04Recap
To recap: with plugins you connect ready-made apps in one click, with Custom MCP, any app, like your ERP, and a single answer crosses your documents with your systems, with citations. Laura knows how much to charge. Your documents and your apps, in one answer.
